Padma Vibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, who is universally regarded as the maestro of the bansuri, or the bamboo flute, has enthralled listeners for 45 years with his soulful, meditative music combining both tradition and improvisation. Over his career, Panditji has been a recipient of numerous awards of international recognition. These include the Sangeet Natak Akademi Puraskar, India’s highest award in recognition of one’s contribution to performing arts in 1983, the Padma Vibhushan (2000) India’s second highest civilian award to recognize exceptional and distinguished service, the Dinanath Mangeshkar Award (2000) and the Konark Samman (1992) among others. He has also been honoured by the Dutch Royal family and the French Ministry of Culture.

Pandit Anindo Chatterjee, has been described as one of the most accomplished tabla players of his generation. His performance is marked by crisp tonal quality and the presentation of rare compositions with extreme clarity.

Prasad Bhandarkar, a disciple of Pt. Chaurasia, will be providing flute support. He derives strong influence from Panditji’s soulful style.
